| LaProf State of the Art Report is aimed at understanding the development of current methodologies and existing language learning opportunities (offline or online) in language training in the ICT and Agricultural Sector in order to develop a well suited set of activities in response to the needs of the current environment. Research conducted by LaProf has proven that online resources for languages such as Finnish in the ICT Sector and Greek in the field of Agriculture are very poorly represented. In the field of Agriculture, learning resources are limited both in the case of more widely spoken languages such as English, but particularly in the case of Greek, where opportunities are available mostly in academic settings. Whereas for resources that focus on basic learning of the Greek language, here are some of the links included in the report that could be of use for the target users: http://www.livemocha.com http://www.xanthi.ilsp.gr/filog/info.htm http://www.kypros.org/LearnGreek/ and only one with a professional focus: http://www.orionnet.info/lang_resourses_gr/level_one/text/basic_text_1gs4.html Additionally, the Finnish online language resources offer more variety, but with focus on basic, everyday vocabulary, such as: http://www2.edu.fi/ymmarrasuomea/ http://www.finnishschool.com/ http://www.linguhouse.com/ The courses that do address the ICT sector are designed for Finnish speaking users only. This situation enables LaProf project to meet the needs of the users by developing online activities, in accessible languages, duly targeted to the specific professional sectors of ICT and Agriculture, and thus encouraging a greater mobility of the target users.
